Overview
Tomb Raider 2 was one of the most anticipated games of 1997 and marked the glorious return of Lara Croft. The second installment of the game featured many new improvements over the first and is one of the most successful Tomb Raider games.
Improvements
While Tomb Raider 2 featured numerous improvements over Tomb Raider, the most noticable would likely be the new, more 'rounded' character model of Lara and the inclusion of the flowing ponytail. Others include the introduction of vehicles, new additions to the Croft Manor, the ability to climb certain surfaces, and Flares, which could be used to illuminate dark rooms and dungeons.
Gameplay
The gameplay styles in TR2 are mostly the same but Lara's movement is slightly easier done. Also Lara now has the ability to roll while underwater and climb surfaces.

Story
Lara is in search of the Dagger of Xian, a mystical artifact said to contain the power of the Dragon. However she finds she is not alone in her quest and finds herself caught in battle with cult leader Marco Bartoli.

Weapons
Lara again starts the game with her trusty dual pistols and also the Shotgun. Later on she will find the Automatic Pistols, which replace the magnums, the Uzis, the M16, Grenade Gun, and Harpoon Gun which is used underwater.
Secrets
Secrets consist of 3 statues in Tomb Raider 2. After the player uncovers the Stone, Jade, and Gold dragon statues a secret is given such as ammo, weapons, or medi packs.
Vehicles
Lara controls a speedboat in Venice and a Snowmobile in the Tibetean Foothills.
